The Regional Municipality of Durham will begin construction of advanced roadway illumination on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) from Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to Alexander Knox Road (Regional Road 40) in the City of Pickering

Ontario Power Generation (OPG), in partnership with Durham Region Health Department and Toronto Emergency Management, will provide residents living within 10 kilometres of the Pickering and Darlington nuclear generating stations with replacement potassium iodide (KI) pills. These pills will replace those distributed in 2015, which are set to expire in 2027.

The applicant is proposing to develop the southwest quadrant of the subject lands with a 25‑metre-high monopole tower.
The City Development Department received new development applications from 375 Kingston Road Corporation and 401 Kingston Road Corporation for an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment for the lands located at 375, 395, 401, 409, 413, 417 Kingston Road and 4 Evelyn Avenue.
The applicant is proposing amendments to the land-use designations for several properties in the vicinity of the Highway 407 and Brock Road interchange. These amendments would allow for a broader range of uses, including offices, hotels, mixed-use buildings, high-density residential development, light manufacturing, institutional uses, and other public and related facilities such as hospitals. The amendments also include permissions for low and medium-density residential uses, as well as commercial areas.
